Supported Independant Living (SIL)

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is tailored to individuals with higher support needs, helping them live independently at home.

This service includes daily assistance with personal care, cooking, cleaning, and developing essential life skills.

What is SIL?

Here at Empowerly Care Services, we are equipped to providing round-the-clock support, including overnight assistance, for tasks like household chores, accessing community activities, attending appointments, and more.

The provision of SIL supports in your NDIS plan, doesn't necessitate the need to live alone or with other people. Whether you live with other NDIS participants or independently, SIL funding under your NDIS plan ensures you receive personalized care and support as outlined by NDIS guidelines.

SIL and SDA

A common misconception is that SIL and SDA access are one and the same. Supported Independent Living (SIL) refers to the supports and services provided to a participant, whilst Specialist Disability Accomodation (SDA) refers to accommodation, i.e. specifically designed disability housing.
